Greetings from Hawk Nation!
At Silverado, our Hawks continue to SOAR by being Safe, Outstanding, Accountable, and Responsible!!! As we move into the next school year, we strive to continue our excellence that has become a hallmark tradition of all aspects of Silverado High School.
We prepare your students for all choices for their future here at Silverado High School. Silverado Hawks have access to college and career-readiness pathways in multiple industry sectors including but not limited to Criminal Justice, Child Development, Cadet Corps, Culinary Arts, Computer Systems/Technology, and Medical Assisting. A robust Advanced Placement and AVID program help support students academically. Students can work towards a college degree simultaneously with their high school diploma through our Early College Academy and our Dual Enrollment programs. Incoming 9th graders receive assistance with transitioning to high school through our Link Crew program designed to connect incoming 9th graders with an experienced upperclassmen who can help guide them through their first year of high school. Additional interventions for 9th graders also exist through our Building Assets, Reducing Risk (BARR) program, which has plans to expand in the next school year. Finally, positive behavior expectations are reinforced through our PBIS SOAR behavioral expectations. Silverado is proud to be a GOLD Status PBIS Award-winning program. We are aiming for Platinum in the upcoming school years!
Silverado is the largest comprehensive high school in the Victor Valley Union High School District (VVUHSD) and one of the top 5 largest in entire the High Desert. With our significant size, students are afforded access to opportunities in over 75 different clubs and almost 20 different athletic programs. Our tradition of excellence occurs in the classroom as well as in our clubs, visual and performing arts programs and on our athletic fields. We are confident that ALL students can find a place to fit in at Silverado. Student participation in these activities helps make up the greater Silverado Hawk Family as a whole.
